1.0 What level of browser do I need to access LINKWeb Order Support?
The following are the minimum levels of browsers by platform that we have tested and work reliably with LINKWeb Order Support site:
-
1.1 How to check the level of your browser
You can check the level of your browser by selecting Help, About Browser. Netscape browsers show the release and build level in the top title bar of the help window displayed. Microsoft browsers show this information in the window itself.
-
1.2 IBM OS/2 Warp 3 and 4
Netscape Navigator 2.02 build 980101
-
1.3 Microsoft Windows 9X,Me & NT,2K,XP
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or 8.0
Netscape Navigator 3.0 build 96223
-
1.4 Microsoft Windows 3.nn (16 bit)
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 build 4.72
Netscape Navigator 3.0 build 96223
-
1.5 Other platforms
Browsers on other platforms have not been widely used but we believe Netscape Navigator 4 works on Unix platforms and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 on Apple Macintosh platforms.
-
1.6 Other browsers
Although not widely tested, other Browsers such as Opera and Mozilla are believed to work. There is a known issue with Mozilla-based browsers (including Netscape V.6 onwards) where the File Save As dialog in Inventory Retrieval when you download an ADM file does not show the correct filename. This is a browser limitation. Users will need to select Save as type = All files and manually remove the .cgi from the filename.
-
1.7 Java/Javascript
To keep things simple we have avoided using some Web technologies such as Java. One exception to this is the Configurator ePadm Java applet. Javascript may be used in some places but applications should still work if this is disabled.
2.0 My country is not listed on the Registration page, how can I register?
The LINKWeb EMEA Order Support service is currently only available in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions (EMEA). If your country is not listed then the service is not available there.
3.0 How do I register to use Leadtime?

4.0 Do I need to set a Proxy server in my browser preferences?
If you can not connect to some or all of the LINKWeb Order Support pages and your access to the Internet is through a firewall, you probably need to configure the Proxy server preferences in your browser. If in doubt, please contact your local support people who should be able to advise what proxy server address and port to use.
If your organisation uses manual proxy setup (as opposed to automatic proxy setup) then you can check your settings as follows, but remember to make a note of existing settings before making any changes:
-
4.1 Microsoft Internet Explorer
For Microsoft Internet Explorer the Proxy settings can be found under View/Options/Connection/Advanced. Make sure both the HTTP and Security entries are filled in or the use same Proxy server for all protocols box is checked.
-
4.2 Netscape Navigator
For Netscape Navigator the Proxy settings can be found under Edit/Preferences/Advanced/Proxies/View. Make sure both the HTTP and Security entries are filled in.
5.0 What do I need to run the Configurator ePadm Java applet?
The Configurator ePadm Java applet is only supported on Windows 95, 98 or NT4.0. The applet uses the Java 1.2 plug-in which is available for Netscape Navigator V.3 and above and Microsoft Internet Explorer V.4 and above. Installation of the plug-in is documented on the Configurator page. The same page also has a link to an alternative Configurator download form which does not require Java.
